OK,
so I'm only 41 seconds into watching the trailer of Oliver Stone's W.
about G.W. "Dumb-Ass" Bush, and already, I'm laughing and thinking,
this is a comedy, a very sad comedy. A non-fictional tragicomedy, as it
were. That's me, speakin' the biz talk.
First
off, Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, American Gangsters) plays
Bush. I think Brolin is a great actor, which is going to be challenge.
I mean, how do you take a rather intelligent actor and make him play a
stupid president without coming off as Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and
Dumber? Challenging, to say the least.

Then
Stone has the challenge of making a poignant film about a man who
hasn't fully evolved from Genus Pan (monkey status)? Will he focus on
the challenge that others had, trying to communicitate (spelling
correct) with a man who speaks his own undefinable (spelling correct)
language? What would he call the movie then? Huked on Fonix? Say That
Again?
Or,
will Stone focus on the damage done to our country and our country's
reputation as a result of the asinine policies that this man of very
little brain capacity pushed through? What would he call the movie
then? We're F^@ed? The Twenty Year Recession? I Take No Responsibility
for My Mess?

Or,
will he focus on the monarchy that Bush has created? What would be call
it then? You Just Think You Have Freedom? I Can Hear You On the Other
Line? Your Votes Won't Matter a Diddly Darn - McCain Will Still Win?
Oh,
and another challenge … Stone cast Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush. Not
very smart! First, Stone should have cast a man to play this role.
Personally, I'm a fan of Will Ferrell. I think he'd be perfect as
Barbara Bush!

All I can say is that Stone has a HUGE challenge before him. In my opinion, he should just take the path of least resistance and do this movie with the focus being on the DC scenery … the cherry blossoms are gorgeous in the spring. Oh, and cast Will Ferrell.
